Cook Out

We stopped at Cook Out on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving while road-tripping because we’d never eaten there before—despite seeing them sprinkled all throughout the South. We arrived around 8 p.m. and were warmly greeted. This is very much a fast-food experience, but the staff member taking our order was lovely and patient when we explained it was our first visit. The menu is huge—almost too large to take in at once—but we went with the popular “tray” combo. My husband chose a hamburger, slaw, and Cajun fries. I ordered the two hot dogs “Cook Out style,” which meant mustard, onions, chili, and coleslaw. In my opinion that’s the perfect combination for a hot dog. Had the cajon crispy chicken, cajon fries, and white cheddar nuggets. Tasted good, chicken was a little dry. Cajon heat was less than expected. Still good. Would definitely stop by here again. Counter help was very friendly and nice.

Haven eaten here several times I can say for a fast food burger joint this one is not bad. The burgers have always been juicy not dried out cardboard style. The inside was always clean and the staff friendly. Food came out fresh and hot. The times I went through the drive through it was fast and my order was always correct. When I’m in the area and decide on a burger this is my go to spot.

I love cookout usually! But whoever gave me these dry, shrivelled strips of chicken needs to be retrained 🥲

Very friendly staff! The food was great and inexpensive too. The shake was super thick and very yummy 😋
