Cocotazo

I wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars. If you are looking for the best authentic Puerto Rican food in the city, look no further. It’s easy to see that the food here is made with love and care. Staff and the chef are incredibly warm and friendly. Great attention to detail and super welcoming. I ordered the chefs special “The Coki”, which is a traditional pernil (roasted pork) dish. It’s packed with flavor and tenderness, and the crispy skin provides a wonderful tasty crunch. Absolutely flawless! Get the bacalaito here also. So good!! Do yourself a favor and make a visit here, ASAP!

This is a great spot to check out for authentic Puerto Rican food. Both of the dishes we received were incredible and so were the appetizers. The steak was DELICIOUS and I loved how the rice came in its own container. The details were clearly thought out. My only feedback is the front of house could be improved. I know this is a newer spot and they are working things out. Otherwise, I can’t wait to go back.

I wanna start by saying I was really expecting an amazing food experience and it really fell short unfortunately two small pieces of octopus for $21 and the texture was completely off the bacalito wasn’t as crunchy as I was expecting it to be and lacked flavor myself I ordered the guava ribs and malanga mash The ribs were tough hard to pull off the bone and we’re slightly pink in the inside. The salad was just a salad. I barely had any dressing on it and My Husband ordered rice and gondules with salmon the rice needed salt the salmon was ok but nothing really made an impression at all but to top it off the reason I went out to dinner was so that I didn’t have to cook and smell like food but I left cocotazo smelling like I cooked my own meal I’m not sure if the fan was off but I have never

This small quaint little space is amazing. The food and atmosphere were excellent. A real feel vibe like being in Puerto Rico. If you follow them on social media and you see a special that they are presenting you have to get there early because it’s a small place and they do run out of food quickly. The staff is great and the owner/cook comes out to greet the customers which I appreciated. Check this place out you won’t be disappointed.

I LOVE COCOTAZO! I love Chef Francis I love Vicky! Trust me, when you finish stuffing your belly at Cocotazo you will be saying the same. The moment you step foot in front of the restaurant, you feel like you're in Puerto Rico. You feel like you're walking into a home that you feel safe, loved and welcomed in. The food is absolutely delicious! It is GOURMET PUERTO RICAN FOOD. You can truly tell that Chef Frances puts her WHOLE HEART INTO HER COOKING. You taste the love & dedication in each bite. I mean ..
