Chutney Masala

We went to Chutney Masala for dinner recently and it was absolutely delicious. We went a little overboard and ordered 4 appetizers and 2 entrees and everything was delicious. The restaurant itself is very nice. I will say, they didn’t have the lights dim at all, so it was quite bright in there, which kind of took away from the date night ambience of it. That being said, they clearly do a lot of take out orders and that might be part of why they have the lights up brighter. The staff was friendly enough. This is definitely a place where they are not trying to get done and out the door quickly. If you are on a time crunch, either choose somewhere else or let them know in advance. The food here is exceptional! The balance of spices, textures, authentic flavors — truly the best Indian food I’ve had outside my grandma’s kitchen. Chef Navjot is so kind and attentive. The staff are hospitable and always make sure we’re taken care of. Highly recommend!!

Maybe it of the time of day but the food was disappointing. There was a little pool of oil on top of the Chef Cream Chicken dish. Service was meh with the exception of one person (with the ponytail) whose service was really good. Asked if I could get a margarita as a mocktail -when the menu says “Mocktail of your choice”- and was told no, with no other option offered. The actual Spicy Guava Margarita was good.

The appetizers and curries are fantastic! Definitely going back

We absolutely love chutney masala! Their food is consistently fantastic and tastes just as good, if not better, than our favorite Indian restaurants in NYC. We’re gluten free and we love eating the missi roti (made with chickpea flour). So delicious!
