Chicanos Cocina never misses! I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the past year for corporate lunches and after hours drinks, and somehow it just keeps getting better every single time. The food is authentic, bold, and packed with flavor. Their soups are seriously underrated. I’ve tried every single one and have yet to be disappointed. And the drinks? The BEST paloma and margaritas around: strong, perfectly balanced, and never watered down. Chicanos is also one of the few Mexican spots that serves the Corona Familiar (ask for a caguama). While staying nearby I walked here for donner one evening, coming in on a weeknight, they were moderately busy. I was immediately greeted by a server and I decided to sit at the bar. The folks taking care of me were all attentive and great. They have a nice menu, loaded with all the popular Mexican favs. I tried a skinny margarita and it was solid! Nice and flavorful, made with fresh ingredients and offering a decent amount of tequila in it. Their salsa was great! Very tasty and to spike it up a bit, I requested some of their spicy salsa, which resemebled a habanero salsa, which I mixed with the regular salsa and this made for a very nice, spicy, and tasty salsa for their chips. This is going to be a long post but I promise it’s worth the read This is our first time in Virginia and it was late at night. We got turned away and treated poorly by two establishments before we found this spot. It was 10 mins before closing and they still let us in. This place had some of the most amazing food I’ve ever tasted. Our waitress Sharon? I wish her a beautiful and fulfilling life for the service she provided. Ernesto? Solid Mexican restaurant that has plenty on offer for everyone. Seated quickly and served up chips and salsa and a type of spicy crema for dipping, yummy. Margaritas were flavorful and quickly served, as was the white cheese dip that met my wife's requirements for queso Blanco. Crazy things was, the entrees came out almost as immediately as we put in the order, my wife got enchilada which she enjoyed and I tried the carnitas fajitas. Good carnitas, the hot fajita plate gave nice crispy bits to the carnitas and everything was delicious.

Absolutely had the best atmosphere! Held our giant and loud group of 25 people and were met with nothing but kindness and professionalism. Ernesto and his staff are absolutely incredible food was very tasty! Please check them out if you’re ever in the Richmond area so worth it!
