Chez Mireille

We’ve been coming to Chez Mireille since they first opened, though we’re not regulars by any stretch, more like infrequent flyers. The owners are very enthusiastic and always friendly, but not in an effusive way. They seem a bit reserved and very serious when it comes to their waffles. Most times we’ve gone, we’re asked if we know about authentic Belgian waffles. The owners like to teach their customers about the various kinds, and seem slightly disappointed if we come in already knowing what we want before they can give their spiel. Understandably, this is a part of their culture, they’re proud if it and want to share it with others, but if you’ve been coming here over the years it can seem a bit like a hurdle one must pass to get to the goods (in this case, delicious waffles). We love this place!!!! The waffles are amazing and so is the chocolate spread! Today we are picking up a gift basket we bought for our Thanksgiving feast/ my dad’s birthday. Looking forward to seeing what’s inside.

9/21/25 finally got to stop in and check it out. I was a bit later in the morning so not much left... That's tells me everything is good here! I got a Herstal waffle and ate it dry, it was good! Nice folks here too. I'll need to stop in a few more times and earlier as well. You can order online and they will have it saved for you.

We stopped here completely on a whim and are so glad we did. The husband, originally from Belgium, was incredibly inviting and took the time to teach us about authentic Belgian waffles and their chocolate sauce, which made the experience feel personal and special. The waffles are traditionally made and absolutely delicious, with a great variety of flavors. We loved the salted caramel, blueberry, and cherry options. Everything tasted fresh, rich, and clearly made with care. We were visiting from Michigan and were thrilled to learn that they ship out of state. We will definitely be ordering again and recommending this spot to anyone looking for a true Belgian waffle experience. A wonderful find and a highlight of our trip.

This was one of the most welcoming environments I have ever been in, and THE best waffles I have ever had. The owners immediately came over and gave us a lovely and informative lesson about their authentic Belgian waffles, and what makes them different to the ones that Americans are used to. They did not disappoint!! The owners recommended that we put them in the toaster, but we just had to try them as soon as we got home, and even though they weren't toasted we knew that they were going to be delicious, and they were! Once toasted, they are perfectly crispy on the outside while being fluffy on the inside, with flavors that linger in your mouth even after you're finished.
