Chepes Bakery

Chepes Bakery is a very authentic Guatemalan panadería. They offer delicious sweet bread, amazing tres leches cake, and a great variety of food. Everything tastes homemade and full of tradition. My favorites are the tamales and the pollo a la carreta—highly recommended!

Not entirely sure what I picked up this time, but I really enjoy visiting Chepes Bakery. I usually stop by whenever Reid and I have dinner on Moody Street in Waltham. They always seem to have something new, which adds a fun element of surprise each visit. I do wish the items were labeled, though—it would make ordering a bit easier without needing the clerk to come around while I point out my choices. That said, I had the orange-striped toast for breakfast today—it was absolutely delicious! ---

Great small bakery in the heart of Waltham. I got a Tre Leces cake and it was delicious. Great selection of baked goods. They also have a variety of lunch items. I look forward to venturing back to Chepes.

First off I would like to say that I am all about diversity in this country. I feel that all are welcome to share in its bounty. That being said, if you own an establishment in the United States you should have at least one person on the premises who can speak English. Neither person who worked here spoke a speck of English and did not understand anything that I was asking. When you walk into the bakery it is very clean and inviting the tres leches looked especially delicious. Unfortunately looks aren't everything! I purchased a slice of traditional and a slice of chocolate tres leches. Worst I have ever had! First off, the layer on the top was not whipped cream, it was more like whipped lard. The cake was dry and tasteless, not a drop of milk anywhere? Maybe I need to remind them that thi

Their bakery goods are fresh and very tasty. Customer service is excellent. Atmosphere is beyond happy.
