My husband absolutely loved the food here! We were just passing through the area and decided on a whim to snag some fresh ocean dinner, and it certainly did not disappoint. Every bite tasted like it was caught that morning. ​The quality was incredible, and it was the perfect pit stop to refuel before getting back on the road. Chart Room is one of those spots that checks all the boxes, especially for waterfront dining without the hassle. There’s plenty of free parking, which is always a win, and despite how popular it is, there was hardly any wait thanks to the large dining room and many tables. The restaurant has a nautical, coastal vibe, with decor that fits perfectly with its location by the water and adds to the overall charm. The menu offers a wide variety of options, so there’s something for everyone, and the fish and chips are an absolute must—classic, comforting, and even better enjoyed right by the water. The food here is amazing! The clam chowder was rich and flavorful. The fish and chips are always so hot and fresh! I love their tartar sauce. The grilled shrimp is also packed with flavor! I’ve been here twice when coming through town and we always make a point to stop for dinner.

Stopped at The Chart Room on our way to the Redwoods and were pleasantly surprised by how great the staff, food, and location were! We even got to watch a few sea lions sunbathing near the restaurant, which made the visit extra special. We ordered the fish and chips, and out of our entire week-long trip, they were hands down the best we had!

Took my wife here for anniversary dinner. The location on the jetty was outstanding: beach on one side, sea lions on the harbor on the other. Our entrees were $40 each, but they were vastly overpriced for the quality of the food. When I tried to get grilled shrimp instead of fried, I was told that he (presumably the cook) was “kind of a jerk” and refused. There is a bar, but they can’t make mixed drinks beyond a Bloody Mary. There is no happy hour here. I’m admittedly a big guy, but the chairs were small, wooden, and uncomfortable. Finally, they tack a 3% fee to use credit cards, and I no longer carry cash, so it was like adding insult to injury. We won’t be back.
