This place is amazing and should be more busy than it is! All of the staff is exceptionally friendly and polite. Some of the best service we’ve ever had. The food quality was reflective of native Cajun cuisine. There was something amazing in the way the meat fell apart in my mouth in the jambalaya. The spicing was perfect. The boudin had a perfect crispy outside and gooey inside. I appreciate that they serve local beer and supper their community in this regard. We tried two flavors and both were excellent. There is one bathroom in the back which is gender inclusive and handicap accessible. They have some outdoor seating which we weren’t able to take advantage of due to the weather. We brought teenagers with us but there was another family with a baby. I would say that they’re fami
I've always been tempted by the delicious smells coming from this place while driving through Crescent City, and on this trip, we finally decided to stop in. As someone who is gluten free, I reached out in advance via Facebook to ask about gluten-free options. I was impressed with how quickly they responded and appreciated that they offered several choices. We went for dinner and chose to sit outside, which offered a lovely view of the water. I ordered the jambalaya, and my husband had the grilled version of their fish and chips. The kitchen was kind enough to modify the dish, since the original was deep fried. We also shared a half order of fries as an appetizer, and I have to say—the fries were incredible! Perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. The jambalaya was flavorful and packed with
A great place to enjoy southern Louisiana food. The views of the beach are a wonderful way to enjoy what is on the menu. We tried jambalaya and a poor boy and both were excellent. Nice choices of drinks to pair with your meal. The service was great and they have a good selection of desserts to end your dinning experience.
We had the jambalaya and the dirty fries. The fries were actually spicier than the jambalaya, but absolutely delicious. Jambalaya was a unique dish we haven't had before, but it was good and the spice was just right for us. The portions were a tad small, but with the appetizer was just right. No room for dessert on the fullness scale. Would come here again! Well decorated, clean, and nice staff.
We really enjoyed our visit to Schmidt's House of Jambalya. We started off with their special appetizer of Alligator Bites which were very tasty. We then split the Jambalaya...it did not disappoint, it was perfectly flavored. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, the food and drinks came quickly, and there are beautiful beach and sunset views. I would definitely recommend.
