Charlie's Place

Cheese pizza was great! Prob my fav bar pizza and I don’t even like bar pizza. The sauce flavor is good! Def recommend if bar pizza is your type. I might actually crave a bar pizza for once now after trying this place out!

I love that this place asks you how you would like your pizza. Never had a pizza place ask that before. I’ve ordered it limp before because it tastes so good. Although I do like to crisp it up now and again. Friendly environment, and I love that the place has history.

Charlie’s Place might just serve the best clam chowder in the entire region. Rich, creamy, and loaded with clams and tender potatoes, it’s a bowl of pure comfort. If you're a chowder fan, this is the gold standard. We also got the linguiça and onion pizza, which was incredible—savory, smoky, and perfectly balanced with sweet onions. The cheese pizza was equally great, with a crispy crust and just the right amount of sauce. Even the simpler dishes impressed us—the buttered penne was a hit with the kids, and the onion rings were hot, crispy, and impossible to stop eating. From start to finish, Charlie’s delivers quality, flavor, and that cozy, classic New England charm. A must-visit!

I was so impressed with Charlie's bar pies. The crust was really great! I tried a four different single toppings. The servers, especially Gail was so nice! She was very friendly and attentive. Plenty of seating. I was in a booth. A member of my party who normally would've struggled in a booth thought the booth very roomy! Definitely worth a repeat as there were a few items that caught my eye on the menu.

EDIT: after being messaged by someone who I can only imagine is affiliated I have now changed it to one star. I gave a decent amount of information in this review for other people to make their own decisions. I do not appreciate the persistent messaging over a review that was almost a year old. Previously ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped in after hearing that Charlie's has great south shore bar pizza. I got there around noon on a Saturday and there weren't many customers. I was able to pick where I wanted to sit, the waitress was very nice! I ordered one cheese bar pizza laced. That's my goto when trying a new ssbp place. Pizza came out quickly. It had a decent lace but I don't think the oven was up to temp yet or something. The pizza was soggy on the bottom, was almost raw in some places and very floppy.
