Chapter One Food and Drink Mystic CT

I stopped in during an afternoon of meandering around Mystic. I had an IPA they had on draft. The atmosphere is really great, full of energy. The service was really good, too. I decided to order a vegan appetizer if they had it (they don't specifically carry vegan apps). He recommended sweet potato fries, which I didn't even see on their menu. They were properly seasoned and hit the spot! I recommend stopping in just to experience the energy and service.

This was my second time at chapter one. I was Excited to return after a delicious meal with my family in the summer for my friends bachelorette party. Parking was rough so we arrived a little late for a reservation, but still within the 15 minute window and the hostess stated you just made it in a rude tone upon arrival. It seemed like they were annoyed to see us, even though the restaurant wasn’t very full or busy. Our server seemed to be snappy and have an attitude from the get-go. This is not the experience I had had the first time I went. We ordered our food and when it arrived, my bacon wrapped dates were burnt to a crisp black. Chapter One completely saved the night! The cocktails are top-notch—every drink is mixed to perfection. Whether it’s date night, a night out with friends, or you’re visiting from out of town, this is a must-stop while shopping or exploring the area. The real standout is the staff. Our waitress was friendly, welcoming, and gave excellent local recommendations that made the experience even better. Between the atmosphere, the perfectly made drinks, and the service, Chapter One is a spot I’ll definitely be coming back to.

My boyfriend and I loved this place. The food was amazing with unique offerings for sides that weren’t just french fries. The crispy potatoes with the chipotle mayo are delicious, and the maple brussels sprouts and atlantic salmon were as well. My boyfriend got the rigatoni which was just so tasty. He got the old fashioned flight which has original, chocolate, cherry, and maple old fashioneds, and the cherry was his favorite. No one does an old fashioned better than the Mariner though. I had sangria which was very tasty, but mostly just tasted like juice (unlike at the Mariner where they cut it with tuaca and aperol so it has a more alcoholic taste to it). Got 2 different flights-old fashions and chocolate martini flights, very good and super cool. Atmosphere was great, staff friendly October atmosphere with lots of people walking the street, live music. Bacon wrapped scallops were delicious but only 4 of them as heads up. But we got Lobster mac and cheese and it was cold. Not luke warm, straight cold. We expected a baked mac and cheese, this isnt it. It was penne noodles and a thin, soupy mac sauce. We wont send food back and it was 8pm so starving, ate it and just let them know. They apologized and said they would tell the chef. We told her after the bill came, dont want money back but want to let them know for the next person.
