This is a fine Irish pub in downtown Punta Gorda. I was on a bike ride, and stopped in for a beer. Bike rack out front was easily accessible. I walked in the back door, in the front, to a nice cozy bar, but wanting to be outside on this fine sunny day, finally warming up a bit. I walked through to the opposite door, and was out where the live music stage, and outdoor seating lay. Although no band was on stage on this Wednesday, at 1:00 in the afternoon, I sauntered up to the outside bar, and was quickly greeted by a polite young bar-keep. Sadly, I ne'er got her name. I ordered an on tap Guinness, and she began the process. Thankfully, she did not rush things. She gently poured the beer until it roofed the glass, and then let it settle. It took between 3-5 mins for her to finally top it of
Thw food was delicious and full of flavor. We ordered the Reuben Pasty. It tasted nothing like any reuben that we've ever had, but it was so good. The restaurant/pub is a bit different than we had ever been to. We sat at a table for sometime before I saw a sign that said to order at one of the bars and that was a bit frustrating as 2 people n our party were older and one in a wheelchair that didn't make it easy for our party at remembering everyone's drinks, food, and paying. Also the nenu was on a chalk board abovevthe bar, and definitely not easy for a few in our party to see in the dim lighting. I did ask for menus and they had pamphlet size menus. The main floor is wheelchair accessible at the front and back door the bathroom was wide enough for a wheelchair. I definitely recommend
Really cool Public house. Lots of seating, huge bar, excellent food, great beer, friendly staff, it’s just a good place to stop and eat and grab a pint of Guinness. We had shepherds pie and fish and chips and enjoyed every bit of it. Portions are hefty and worth every penny. For dessert we had Dublin tart - baileys and chocolate…yes please! If you like spicy ask for the hot sauces!
Really cool pub in the heart of Punta Gorda. Lots of options for English beers with a decent selection of pub foods. Indoor seating was a little crowded so I'd avoid big groups if that's your plan.
Hello people, I am a beer drinker well into my sixties now and want all to know this place rocks. The food, atmosphere and of course my Harp beer is always a pleasure her at the Celtic Ray Pub. I will enclose a video for your enjoyment. Just please overlook my video graphics as I'm sure I already downed a few. Cheers to all.
