Just bought some great fresh halibut today at the store in Punta Gorda. Lisa was wonderful helping us to make a decision. It is our favorite place to get fresh or frozen fish . Also picked up some lobster dip and key lime pie. Worth the trip to go there.

We order from Fresh Catch often and have never been disappointed. The Faroe Island Salmon steaks are beautifully red and taste buttery and rich. The Argentina Red Shrimp are fantastic in any recipe, and are outstanding roasted ala Ina Garten for cocktails. The Coconut Shrimp were a real treat New Year's Eve, and my husband devoured the curry with Key West Shrimp from the Fresh Catch. The Scallops were a real delicacy, quickly seared in garlic butter. Cresh Catch has become our resource for all things seafood. Trying their other products from the land are on the list for future orders. Excellent source at a fair price with stellar service!!!

I have always liked this place, and have had good luck with our purchases. But I went to buy an awesome Valentine's Day dinner last week and was disappointed. The Chilean Sea Bass, while very expensive (everywhere), was outstanding. I bought 2 chicken pot pies for $15 each. They were good, but not great. And only 2 meals from each pie. But the biggest tragedy of my $180+ purchase was a jumbo set of Stone Crab Claws. They were dried out to the point that we could get virtually nothing out of the claw but fragments. The meat was terrible, the taste was not good unless covered up by mustard sauce. The frozen "large" claws were so much better. $34 for jumbo fresh... no way!!!

Fresh Catch always has the perfect fish. Always. In the two years I have been buying from them, I have never been disappointed. Ever. I especially love the Faroe Islands salmon which I order at least twice a month. It is so fresh that I usually plan on using what is left over (if any!) for salmon salad the next day. Love their scallops. Triple Tail. Whatever I buy is always delicious; I can count on that every time, so if I'm having dinner for guests I don't have a worry about my fish! And you can get most items either fresh or frozen, depending on your plans.
