Cathy's 14th Street Bakery

Today was my first experience at Cathy's and with a line wrapped around the corner I was hopeful that this was the place, but sadly it is rather generic and not worth an hour wait in line. I was told the powdered cream donuts are the best in the world, and while the pastry cream filling was certainly one of the best I've ever had, the donut itself was very dense and dry, not light and fluffy like a cream donut should be. I also got a cinnamon-sugar cake donut that fell apart as soon as I bit into it; the crusty outer layer did not hold together with the inner cake of the donut (usually a sign of frying oil not being changed regularly). As for the cheese danish I got, the cheese tasted very sour and old. It is also fairly expensive here. I understand it is the shore, but $3.50 for ONE donut

Cathy's is hands down the best donuts in OCNJ. We have tried them all and certain places have their goodies and some so-so selections. At Cathy's, everything you get there is awesome. I was not a cream donut fan before trying Cathy's version. It is like eating a cloud covered in sugar...don't miss it.

If people are willing to wait in a long line that must tell you something about this place. 1st the sticky buns were the best In OC they were delicious. Donuts were amazing and that big cinnamon thing was delicious... Just go you won't be disappointed.6/2024 update - I wish I had gone here every day of my trip... Try the croissant... The food was amazing! From the first bite, hands down the best donuts I’ve ever had Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme could never compare! They were warm, freshly baked, and I’d definitely recommend them. Big, flavorful, and satisfying donuts!

Cathy’s 14th St cream filled donuts are what dreams are made of. The filling is the lightest most delectable fluff, the donut itself has just the right sturdiness without being heavy and overbearing. The worst part is waiting for them, but the line moves quickly and people tend to be friendly and jovial. Once inside the adorable workers are patient and efficient. The rest of the donuts and pastries look amazing, but for me, there is only 1 real choice.
