We went here for Valentine’s Day and it was perfect. We started with the small plates that were great to share. Oysters, carrots, bone marrow. They paired great with the slow fashioned cocktail. For our mains the duck was cooked excellent especially with that autumn squash. The short rib and blue grits combination was delicious. We usually save leftovers for our mains but not this time! The staff was very welcoming and helped answer any of our questions. We drove over an hour to come here and it was worth every minute. Will definitely be back!

We are thrilled for this new AMAZING restaurant! The food was incredible! The harissa roasted carrots were amazing and the pan roasted cauliflower was out of this world. The cocktails were delicious and unique! I loved the aesthetic, definitely a very unique and special place. Also, the acoustics were fantastic! The restaurant was packed to the brim and we could still speak in low voices, hear each other perfectly, and could hear the background music. It all felt very well thought out and was the perfect experience. I really can't say enough about this little gem tucked into downtown South Berwick! Dining at Catbird was an absolute revelation. From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant energy and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for something truly special. With Josh Grindstaff in the kitchen and Molly Pritchett leading the front of house, it’s clear that this is a place where passion and attention to detail shine in every aspect. The wine selection was flawless, each glass perfectly complementing the dishes, and the food? Don’t get me started on the food. Simply incredible. A must go!! Delicious food and immaculate atmosphere. Cozy, curated, just beautiful. The food? Will be thinking about it for weeks to come. Roasted chicken was seasoned to perfection and not dry at all. Carrots are to die for. And it’s worth getting every single dessert to share amongst your party. The cocktails were also a 10/10. Highly recommend and wish them all the success so I can come back again and again.

Catbird is not only an exquisite culinary experience, but the passion for serving the best of the best is clearly demonstrated by the owner and her husband, the head chef. The atmosphere is moody, relaxed, low key- yet elevated, and the staff is extremely attentive and professional. There is a wide variety of small plates to share, some secret little gems if you know what to ask for, and the main dishes are to die for. The steak and frites was delicious, cooked to order and seasoned perfectly, no salt or pepper needed. I did, however, ask for the dried kimchi seasoning for my fries and it was delicious.
