Food is always consistently good and traditionally if you’re craving some authentic Portuguese food! the service was great, attentive and not overbearing! And the whole grilled branzino was delicious! Affordable and delicious.
For appetizer, Ameijoas a Pato was authentic taste, reminded me of our 2 wks in Porto, PT. Everything tasted very warm and comforting. Mains, Caldeirada Portuguesa and Bife Grelhado. Grilled Beef actually was medium rare as I ordered, although some areas was rare which I still liked. My husband really liked the seafood dish he got (Caldeirada). We topped it off with Flan Pudding. Overall, great dining experience!
The area around Inman Square is a Portuguese-speaking community, and this restaurant, opened in 1975, was where I tried Portuguese cuisine for the first time. Bacalhau á Braz: The legendary national dish of Portugal, and the portion was very generous. The seasoning was classic European: olive oil, salt, and black pepper. The egg was the absolute star, followed by cod and shredded potatoes. The onions were barely noticeable. Together they constructed a soft and tender texture. Tasting the cod separately, it seemed to have been lightly marinated; it was so tender and almost melted in my mouth, with no fishy taste. However, for me, this dish was a bit too salty and oily (so better with rice...), so the accompanying Italian sauce in the salad was exceptionally refreshing and delicious! (Altho
Rudest server I've ever had in my life. When we asked to adjust how the bill was split, she just said "already split" and didn't help us out. She also gave sarcastic responses to when we asked about the different foods, and ultimately soured the experience in many ways. Also there were lots of small flies flying around the entire dinner, and one ended up flying (and dying) in our half-finished wine glass. Food was oily and expensive, though the lamb was pretty tasty. For the price, I expect a much better experience.
We came here for dinner after reading reviews. Nice quaint joint. Gentleman who was our waiter was a bit stern looking but otherwise was attentive and polite. The hardcopy menu which was passed to us did not have the updated prices (they have since increased their prices). Food was good esp the paella! Loaded with ingredients! Overall, maybe the dishes could have done with less salt.
