I have stopped in here twice now while visiting Maggie Valley. Do not walk RUN here for the fried chicken! They have the most tasty, delicious fried chicken I have had the pleasure of dining on in my 57 years on this earth! The staff has always been quick and friendly, food to table is quick and hot. The abundance of a choice of sides will please all. And the atmosphere is covered with Southern Hospitality and an uplifiting decor! You will find an old newspaper post on the wall, I suggest it to be read and you will understand this restraunts roots and its on going commitment to Maggie Valley. Again.....do not walk, RUN to this establishment. My next time down I must try the beef menu.
This is a diner like atmosphere with good food and service. Cassie took care of our order and kept our drinks refilled. I had the turkey special with all the fixings and my husband had the fried chicken. Very hearty portions and tasty. Feel this was a good value for the price.
I had got the Maggie burger, fries, and Mac and cheese. the burger okay but the mayo tastes weird. Fries are from a cardboard box and are very plain (had to load down with salt). Mac and cheese is kraft Mac and cheese. Corn bread was about the only thing good. Cabbage is not good either. Silverware we had to share. Waiting time was abit aggravating. If you want fried chicken you have to buy the whole half a chicken for $24. the cost of everything was not worth it.
First time visiting Maggie Valley from Charlotte. Was looking for a late breakfast place and stumbled upon this restaurant. Had a brief wait since they were busy but the staff was very friendly regardless. Great portions for breakfast for lunch as an option and the price was very reasonable for the whole meal I ordered. Definitely will come back !
Food was terrible. Fries were terrible and cold. Hamburger steak was tough and bland. That fried chicken is HORRIBLE. Burnt lard is unpleasant. The flounder was also greasy. The chicken was chewy, greasy and not done. It was 78 dollars for 3 people to drive 30 minutes to get a decent meal . It’s dirty, the staff is unfriendly and I am sorry, but you should dress appropriately if you’re a server during lunch, you should not be wearing a dress that looked like slip. The drinks flat, and the staff is rude, and the food is HORRENDOUS. Go anywhere else!!!! Roadkill is more appealing after the night I had in the bathroom.
