Carriage House

No AC, no WIFI, tiny rooms that have not been renovated in literally 100 years. Do not stay here. It is basically a hostel. Not worth the prices if you want to actually enjoy your time in Nantucket. The owner, Haziel, acts like he is letting people stay there for free. For example, if you return to your room after about 10:00pm he will threaten to kick you out. It doesn’t even feel like you’re staying at a hotel because Haziel sets unreasonable rules and acts like he is doing it for free. Please heed my warming and do not stay here. I understand it is much cheaper but it is not worth it unless you are comfortable staying in absolutely squalid conditions. It will ruin your trip. I wish I spent more money to stay somewhere better so I could actually enjoy my stay in Nantucket!

My sister and I traveled to Nantucket for Daffodil weekend. We stayed at the Carriage House and can't praise it enough! The owner Haziel was wonderful and interesting, our room was cozy and comfortable, and the location cannot be beat! A five minute walk brings you to the center for shopping and restaurants. we enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning and pleasant conversation. Haziel is very knowledgeable about Nantucket and made several excellent suggestions of places to go and restaurants etc. We most certainly will be returning and staying at the Carriage House!

We had an excellent vacation experience in Carriage House, the owner (Haziel) is a very nice and intelligent man. Carriage House has beautiful, quiet and clean rooms with lovely decorations and paintings on the walls which bring warm spirit and the necessary amenities you need for a hotel.The price is very much affordable with tasty, fresh breakfast muffins in the mornings. It was our first trip to Nantucket and Haziel was very supportive in guiding us where to go and how to reach to different places, he also gave us a map with directions and his notes.He was very patient and took his time to help guide us. We love staying here! The accommodations are authentic and economical - all you need for a beach getaway to Nantucket. Haziel offers a traditional B&B experience, where he engages with his guests and makes a point to get to know them. We always stay here when visiting the island and feel it is one of the best kept secrets as it is one of the only places that offers reasonable accommodations. Haziel is incredibly kind and always makes us feel welcome. We are so grateful for the CH - as ACK builds up and becomes more commercialized with luxury resorts etc., this is one of the few places that traces back to true Nantucket roots. The location is excellent as well and they offer a healthy, homemade breakfast on the patio in the AM.

We happened upon the Carriage House while planning a fairly last-minute trip to Nantucket, and now can't imagine staying anywhere else. The house is adorable and extremely well-located -- just a short walk to the center of town -- and our room was spotless and very comfortable. The proprietor, Haziel, is extremely knowledgeable about the area and happy to give advice on things to do (and before we even got there, he gave us a great tip on which ferry to take). And finally, the price is so reasonable -- quite literally half of what you would pay at the other b&bs. We had an amazing trip to Nantucket, and the Carriage House was a big part of that.
