We have stayed at the Safe Harbor Guest House with our dogs before. Once again, the Safe Harbor Guest House was a great choice. We stayed in the West Wind room. It had a private entrance which avoided needing to track through the main house with two large dogs. The Safe Harbor Guest House is one of the best values on Nantucket. It may not be as elegant as some B&Bs, but its clean, very near the Steam Ship Authority docks, close to town and Wave bus stops and managed by friendly staff. I would recommend it even without dogs.

The Safe Harbor Guest House reminded me of my great aunt's house on the coast of Maine. There were flowers in the gardens at the front of the house and a welcoming porch with comfy seating. Inside there were lovely antiques and sofas with good lighting for reading. Lisa, the innkeeper, took us up to our room which was clean and comfortable. Every morning she baked fresh muffins and put out bagels, scones and breads, jams and peanut butter, strawberries and blueberries, bananas and cantaloupe, cereals and coffee and tea.||We were only a block or two from the main streets of Nantucket so it was very convenient yet it was quiet and we slept very well. We walked everywhere - from the ferry to Safe Harbor Guest House and to all of the venues of the Nantucket Film Festival and to restaurant

I stayed here last minute, while in town for the Nantucket Film Festival. The Safe Harbor staff worked very hard to fit me in. It was a terrific choice. The rooms were charming and rustic....very quiet, clean and comfortable. I really liked the Zephyr room with it's little balcony. I found the staff is always around, but does a terrific job at giving you privacy...(some reviewers mistake the two). If you need something, just knock on the staff door. Everyone I encountered was most friendly and helpful. Staying here, I found I didn't need a car. I could walk to everything in town or bike/cab or even walk to events out of town. Safe Harbor is close to the theaters, restaurants, shopping, grocery store, everything! The breakfast was continental, but several choices with just enough

We loved the innkeepers they were friendly and accommodating !!! The house is less than a few minutes to town on foot. No need to bring your car. Very nice rooms for a bargain price. Nantucket is one of my favorite islands and now the Safe Harbor guest house will be my new favorite place to stay !!! Thanks

We stayed at safe Harbor for two nights in September. It was not enjoyable. The couple who run this place are not at all friendly hosts--in fact we talked with them very briefly only when we arrived. The bed was very hards and lumpy, the bath drain was plugged, the place very tierd and dirty. The morning b'fast was just a cod buffet, weal coffee, and no hosts in sight.--Stay somewhere else!
