Good: Like the decor, which is interesting to look at while you wait. Staff are reasonably polite. Blackeyed peas are good, with a hint of spice. Mac and cheese is OK. You can tell there is at least partly real cheese involved. Fried chicken is OK. Crab cakes are mediocre, could be crisper and need more seasoning, such as Old Bay. Bad: The greens are awful. I made an audible noise upon first taste because they are rather sweet, and this was an unpleasant surprise. I liked that the baked beans were "chunky", with pieces of onion, tomato, pepper, and ground meat, but again, WAY too much sugar. Don't buy the expensive bottled drinks and thank yourself later. Placed a order for my sister who lives in Bowie, Md., as she is bedridden and unable to cook for herself. I live in Greenville, NC. Had food delivered by Door Dash and when I saw what she received, I was appalled. I was charged $32 for one chicken leg, a scoop of sweet potatoes and a scoop of greens. This is unacceptable! So hurt and upset!

5/5 stars all around the board! From Pittsburgh, PA but in DC/Maryland often. I’ve been to the other locations, but this was my first time at THIS location. Service and food was great! LOVED LOVED the gospel music playing while I ate my food (heard it from the parking lot). Making this my NEW fav location.

Soul food. You seat yourself. About 12 of us, small sections. Warm welcome once in line. Its a buffet server style. You order what you want in a line and get to see the food. Order BBQ, mac and greens. Didn't care too much for the mac and cheese. Catfish was a 20 minute wait so My husband ordered whiting, black eyed peas and yams. Not complaining from him. The honey butter cornbread and desserts stole the show. Cost about $20 person people. No waiters and no trash cans.

This place should be CLOSED ASAP!! The food is not good no matter what you order off the menu .I was appalled with the taste of the yams and greens, the chicken has no flavor. I was charged $4.25 for four corn muffins totally unacceptable. If they gave me free food I would decline it without hesitation. The mac &cheese was not good I’m not sure if it was cheese. I don’t understand why!! And I am happy that there’s other people will speak up.
