Carolina Barbeque

We had to have some barbecue on the 4th of July. This was a good choice. The ribs were tender and delicious. The onion rings were excellent while they were hot. Eat them before they get cold. The Mac and cheese was fair so choose a different side. The hush puppies were very good. There is a variety of sauces so you can flavor your barbecue the way you like it. The counter staff was friendly and helpful with understanding the options for ordering. When our food was ready they brought it to the table. It's a no nonsense dining room with "get your own drink" and clean your table when you finish. The friendly staff wished us a good day as we left.

It felt like an undiscovered gem frequented mostly be local residents. $12 for a large pulled BBQ is amazing and makes for great least overs at home. I regret we don't live close!

This was an unanticipated stop, since I was passing through the area, but it did not disappoint. There was plenty of parking for lunch. The inside had a homey bbq feel with red and white checkered table clothes and cute pig wall decor and signs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The pulled pork was excellent, moist and had a slight (but not overwhelming) hint of smoke. They keep three bbq selections at the table (sweet, mad dog- spicy, and Lexington- vinegar) along with other condiments. The hush puppies had a very delicious corn and honey flavor..moist on the inside and golden brown on the outside. I would recommend the hog fries they were delicious and could be a meal of their own. Ate here a couple weeks ago after skiing. Early evening midweek. What barbecue place does not have brisket? Pork, chicken and ribs were very dry. It was like they were sitting there since yesterday. Sauce was good. Was expecting more of a homemade macaroni and cheese from a barbecue establishment. No hash and rice? Best thing was the fried okra and hush puppies.

Update August 2025: Party of 3 we had pork sandwich with coleslaw and 1 side (cheese curds with an up-charge, worth it), fried chicken fingers with tater tots and BBQ smoked chicken (breast & wing)baked beans, hushpuppies and potato salad (too much mustard for us). Loved everything but the potato salad. One of our favorite places to eat. Highly recommend. There BACK open after Helene. We are so blessed. Foods as delicious 😋 as ever. Our party of 3 had ribs, pork & smoked chicken combo, and many delicious sides. They are still working on the music stage inside.
