Carena's Jamaican Grille

Its been over 2 years since I visited this restaurant and I must say some things have changed but especially not the quality or portion of food. The conch fritters were great, simple batter and dipping sauce was okay. I ordered the combo platter (oxtails and jerk chicken), yummy. I could only eat half so i ate the chicken and save the oxtails for later ( those who love this place know why i saved the oxtails for last. Also,I added more scotch bonnet hot sauce to everything because I like a things a little spicy (you have to ask server for any hot sauces). Rum punches were okay, I did have to add an extra shot for a kick. So I’m here for work this week. I wanted some oxtails (Jamaican food). I looked up this place and was very skeptical. I looked on diner dine in n drives guy from food network video of his visit. He made it seem like the food was amazing🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 The cabbage was crunchy 🫷🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 not even cooked to add bland with no flavor. The oxtails made my stomach hurt….they were not so tender as guy stated. Ruff to me, the gravy was not the least Jamaican but yet soul food gravy🫨🫨🫨…thought I was eating some tough stew beef n rice for moment. I got combination plate of jerk chicken with ox tails. The worst ever for me by far. Don’t waist your coins here. The jerk chicken was average but no so good bc they put oxtail gravy on top🫩🫩🫩…price was too cheap for something. $18 for combo an I normally pay $28 or bet

We had lunch on their patio and everything was perfect! The chicken soup was hearty and flavorful! The oxtails and curry chicken were tender and flavorful! Our waitress was attentive and friendly! Highly recommend!

I love Carena's, but the wait for the food can be quite lengthy at times. Great food and nice atmosphere. Great prices for the food. However, they are nickel and dimers. They charge extra for every side condiment you request.

Simply amazing. Bibi our waitress was awesome. We started with the jerk wings and they were amazing. I got the combo platter with oxtail and island fried chicken. My son got the shrimp pasta and my mom got the jerk chicken. Every meal was delicious. Can’t go wrong highly recommend this place.
