Canton Public Works Department

When I called to report a rotting tree on Maple Ave., a very efficient woman informed me that Maple Ave. is actually a state road. Therefore, Canton Public Works is not responsible for addressing the tree. Before I could ask for contact info for the State, this same woman offered to email the State, providing info on the location of the tree and noting my contact info in case anyone had questions. How often does someone go above and beyond to get the job done? Kudos are in order!

Canton Public Works is located on River Road, across the street from the Canton Fire and Police Departments. The building is adjacent to the Farmington River and the trail. There is a parking lot and restrooms for public use, right behind the building. There is also a sand pile, free for Canton residents during the winter for snow/ice. The Public Works Department is responsible for the following services for the town: -Snow and Ice removal -Transfer station operations/maintenance -Park maintenance -Town buildings/grounds maintenance -Pavement/storm water maintenance -Town infrastructure maintenance -Board of Ed.
