Camino - West Allis

I read and heard that the burgers and food here were excellent and just so happened to be in the neighborhood. It was a great lunchtime choice. I didn't expect the house burger to be so big! Grilled onions, beer mustard, house pickles and a giant bun. That was a big, fulfilling meal. I tried the potato pierogis as an appetizer. They weren't your traditional shaped pierogi but they did taste good. The house made beer mustard and horseradish cream went well with them. My waitress was very smiling and nice. Very cool bar to knock a few back. I will need to check out their happy hour one day as well as their Tuesday Po'Boy special.

My boyfriend, his mom, and I walked in here for the first time on a whim while window shopping in downtown West Allis on an early Friday afternoon. It wasn't super busy, but there were a few people drinking at the bar and others playing some of the slot games when we came in. With that and the wait staff who were all very friendly to us, the vibe felt chill enough to hang out for a few hours despite us being there mostly just for food. We all love a good Friday fish fry, so we decided to get three seafood bonanzas with varying sides. All of us agreed that the fish and shrimp was fried to absolutely perfection, but the calamari was sadly too tough and chewy to finish (probably fried for too long with the other stuff). BF and I agreed the clam chowder soup was one of the best we'd ever had

Nice location in the heart of West Allis. Big windows opening up to Greenfield Avenue, Lots of inside seating options, room to the west great for big groups. Feels good here, enhanced by old hardwood floors and eclectic decor. Service was good, although we were there at 145pm on a Thursday. Talking to others, service is good even at busy times. The food was excellent. Big cheese curds (?breaded in house?) freshly fried but not greasy. Fries with an IPA sauce very good also. Had cheeseburgers, which are half pound patties cooked to perfection, topped with caramelized onions and American cheese, served on toasted bun. Pierogis filled with sauerkraut, potato and bacon served with horseradish crème as well as beer mustard. The pierogis were delicate, taste easily overwhelmed

This was the first restaurant we have been to in Milwaukee, and it did not disappoint. My wife enjoyed the Watermelon Salad, which wasn't for me, but she really enjoyed it. I had the "Cubanski" which was very tasty and bigger than I expected. Friendly staff and cold beer, what else could we ask for?

Can't say enough about the food. Not yiur average meal. Service was really good, but I dont give 5 stars easily. I would describe the atmosphere as 'clean'. Otherwise its average. Menu is a mix of burgers and fries but otherwise has good and uncommon choices. I recommend it while in or near West Allis.
