Calais Free Library

The Calais Free Library is an excellent local resource for kids. We feature many ongoing children's programs, such as our: Summer Reading Program, Christmas Craft Day, Halloween Parade, Homeschooler Thursday's, Wiggles and Giggles, Growing Butterflies, Crafternoons, International Festival Face Painting, etc. We have a wide variety of children's, young adult, and adult literature. Three floors: the children's level, the adult section, and our book sale/genealogy room. We offer public bathrooms, public computers, and printing or faxing for a small fee. Stop by to see all that we have to offer.

One of my favorite places in Calais. The old books you can find there down stairs for sale are a unique and interesting accumulation of old history.

Any amazing place, I have gone here for over 3+ years. It's sad how I can't anymore since covid, but hopefully i'll go back again. :)

Very nice relaxing place,with friendly and helpful people. Makes anyone want to find a nice spot to curl up with a book..
