Enjoyed this place as a place to eat breakfast and brunch, there isn’t many places in Madison to eat this style so it’s worth a visit, most other things near by are diners or beagles so there in a great place. The food was well presented and tasty, there quite busy so it might be a good idea to book ahead
Horrible I came today on Valentine’s Day 2/14/26 because this was on my list. The steak was a poorly cut steak and it was tough when I asked for medium well they took have off because we were eating the sides due to the wait! Grits looks like oatmeal and you have to request cheese melt! I am now looking for something outside of here to eat’ Food is mid! DO NOT RECOMMEND!
I don’t get to Butter & Jam that often but when I do, I consider it a special treat. The food is delicious. The menu highlights a wide variety of healthy and tasty options and never disappoints. I especially enjoy their Mediterranean Toast. Delish! The service is good but when they are busy, it’s not unusual to wait a bit whether for your food or the check. I always enjoy my breakfasts/ lunches there. If I had any recommendations / requests it would be that they open earlier. My day starts early.
We recently had my daughters baby shower at Butter & Jam. It was a wonderful day! Bill, the manager and Daniela, the event coordinator, were a pleasure to work with in planning our event. Day of, Bill and Mia, our server, made sure everything was taken care of and helped us with decorating. They allowed us to come into the space ahead of time to setup. All the food was delicious, we had a limited menu for our guests, the butter & jam board starters along with the fresh berries and cream were a hit. Everyone was very happy! It was truly a lovely day!
We usually go to Turning Point, but we decided to try something different after reading some strong reviews for Butter and Jam. The inside was very generic and honestly reminded me of a hospital cafeteria. The staff was friendly, but the service was surprisingly slow considering how empty it was. There were only a few tables seated, yet it took a long time for our food to come out. I ordered the brisket eggs Benedict. It looked good, but was just okay. The brisket was extremely dry, and while the sauce and poached egg yolk helped a little, it wasn’t enough to make the dish memorable. I also ordered a cold brew, which tasted good, but for the price I was disappointed that the cup was maybe two-thirds full, including the thick layer of foam. Not worth the price. What also surprised me was
