The Baker

Wow!! The Baker is just incredible! I had such an amazing experience just now. The deserts are moist and fresh. The baguette is made exceptionally well. I definitely enjoyed talking to Patrick (the baker/the owner) - he cares about his craft very much and loves this place! It is visible in all of the details he and his team put in. Thank you so much and I will be back soon ☺️

We love walking to the Baker and having coffee and dessert. The atmosphere is beautiful and the gentleman who works there is so sweet. The cappuccino and lattes are delicious. But the cinnabun croissant and scones are out of this world delicious. Oh and the cookies too and the pretzels. We’re slowly working our way through more but it’s hard not to order our favorites. What a wonderful and beautiful addition to the center of town.

We were so excited to try this place out since it looked so good. Everyone working there was very pleasant. We bought several desserts/pastries and two loaves of sourdough. The desserts were tasty, especially the cookies, but did not taste of sourdough at all. The bread was the real disappointment though. It was not baked through. The inside still looked doughy and underbaked (see picture), and the bread was much too dense and hard to chew. There was no crustiness to it whatsoever. There was a slight sourdough flavor to it, but if we buy sourdough bread, we want to taste the sourdough. We do not recommend.

I connected with Patrick and Michelle at the Madison Farmer Market about 2 years ago. I was eating his croissants one morning it was the first bite and the butter and dough hit my tongue I chewed slowly and then swallowed the entire experience was absolutely amazing, I screamed best croissant ever. That same day I was given a sourdough bread which he sliced at the farmers market again absolutely amazing. Being a retired chef it very difficult to find food that I can actually enjoy especially baked good. A bond and a friendship/brotherhood was formed it absolute his children refer to me as Uncle Q. I am at the bake shop today and enjoyed a salad with cranberries, extra sharp cheddar cheese, butter lettuce, almonds and grape tomatoes with a maple balsamic vinaigrette, it was absolutely delic

We didn't even know it was there, but we walked by and it caught our eye. Delicious freshly made pastries and sourdough bread. The coffee was good and they had some creative stuff like a strawberry matcha latte that my wife liked. It was really cute and had a sophisticated kind of European feel to it with an antique vibe. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and quick and polite and definitely cared that everyone was having a good time. We would definitely go back. You can also buy sourdough loaves to go which is great and I guess expected in a bakery. Even though it's a bakery, it kind of has more of a coffee shop feel, but just with delicious baked goods. We got the avocado toast and I appreciate that they have the toppings next to the coffee station so you can apply your own sa
