Burney's Sweets & More of Shallotte

Finally… A bakery in Shallotte! This place totally gets all of my money because I have no self control. Nestled in between the two largest gyms in town, but we actively avoid those and go straight for the sweets. Everything is fresh and made on site. The team and owner are all very friendly. Prices are fair by 2024 standards. Store is a little on the small side so be prepared to bump shoulders with strangers on a busy day.

I've purchased a number of ready made cakes from this location and they were superb (especially the 13 layer chocolate and German chocolate). I ordered a custom cake for my friend's 80th birthday....the decorations on the cake were beautiful. However, when I took the first bite, it was so dry it was like eating a decorated Styrofoam board. I was totally embarrassed that I'd spent over $100 on something I had to throw away. I understood when I picked it up that you'd used a third party bake it....I certainly don't want another cake from that third party. I was able to get edible replacement cakes from Publix.

I placed an order online for delivery. Kaitlyn quickly responded by calling and confirming the items on my order. I explained to Kaitlyn the occasion for which the sweet treats were intended. Kaitlyn thoughtfully added a card as a nice touch to the order. Fast and Friendly, Thank you!

Love love love the Tatum Tide acai bowl!!! The stuffed croissants are amazing too, but that acai bowl is my new obsession.

I had them make 6 teramasu servings for a lasagna dinner party. They were very good and all raved about how good they were. Thank you friendly staff of Burney's for accommodating the short timeframe and all the smiles.
