This spot is a must-try!!! Wow, the warm, fluffy, crispy, melt-in-your-mouth savory cheese pastries were incredibly delicious! Will be back to taste the other options. The service was friendly and warm. While waiting for the borekas (which wasn’t long, maybe 10 minutes), free samples were passed out. The atmosphere is pleasant, there was a lot of people there, I suppose for the obvious reason that their food is absolutely delicious. The air is swirling with the scent of these delectable pastries baking. Prepare yourself for a unique and delicious meal!
I'm a big fan of Ben Ginji and burekas so when I heard he opened up a bureka spot I had to make sure I tried it out. I got there a little before closing and ordered the French onion bureka. The staff were friendly and inviting, even letting me try a bureka flavor that they were experimenting with. The bureka itself was delicious, and with the sauces were even better. The bureka is $18 but big and left me full for hours. There isn't a ton of seating, with two tables outside in 2 standing tables inside Highly recommend you stop by if in NYC.
Had this spot saved forever and finally stopped by on a freezing Greenwich Village afternoon… only to realize they were closed 😭 BUT the absolute legend working there still hooked me up with a French onion soup bureka and a sauce to go. Truly, what a mensch! I sat outside on a bench eating this warm pastry and honestly couldn’t wait to get home just to finish it properly. The flavor was incredible—soft and pillowy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside. One bite and I knew I’d be back. Can’t wait to return when they’re open and order the full box. Moments like this are why I love New York.
Such an awesome concept with traditional and innovative burekas. We tried the elite and loved it. Definitely want to go back and try a more traditional one! There are tall tables outside to eat which also have it a communal feel if you’re in a small group.
Travel bites from NYC! 🗽🥐 Visiting from Florida and strolling through Greenwich Village, I popped into Buba Burekas to see what these little pastries were all about — and I’m so glad I did! The spinach artichoke bureka was out of this world — crispy, flaky, and full of flavor. The everything seasoning on top totally makes it! Loved the sides too — a briny olive, crunchy pickle, and jammy eggs sprinkled with salt flakes. The dips — tahini, crushed tomato, and schug — were the perfect finishing touch. (Yes, I bought a jar of that schug to take home! 🌶️❤️)
