Bookbinder's Seafood & Steakhouse

Went for a close friend's birthday celebration discovered a location for all future special occassions. We had reservations at 8 pm and was seated within 10 min. Party of six. Our server Amanda was personable and attentive without being intrusive. Everything was delicious but the loaded mashed potatoes were the game stopper! A nod to the creamed spinach. It had bits of bacon that made it stand out from other steak houses. I heard from another guest that her brussel sprouts were amazing. The servings easily could have fed 4, not the 2 they suggest. I ordered a "to go" order of the loaded mash to share with my family afterwards. So creamy and full of flavor. Cool old building with lots of exposed brick and metal but still feels kind of cozy. Our service was very good. Drinks were delicious, bread is nice. The clam chowder was good, tasty but not great. The Jumbo Clam Linguine was okay. Not bad, not good. We (3 of us) agreed it was under seasoned and a little bland. The Rockfish special was tasty.

It’s not very often I experience the owner making their way through their restaurant checking on guests but that’s how it’s done here, along with fantastic food. The Kona coffee crusted filet was amazing as were the scallops. Definitely a great dining experience and coming from Houston, where I feel there are many world-class restaurants, this place stands out.

What a magical place to dine. It is romantic, waitstaff are spot on, there is a beautiful Koi pond out back. Last, but number one, the food is divine and cooked to perfection. What a special way to celebrate my birthday!!

The food, the atmosphere, and especially the service all stood out. Our waiter did a fantastic job pacing the meal. Courses were timed perfectly, we never felt rushed, and he consistently checked in without being intrusive. My wife started with oysters while I had the shrimp. We both followed with salads, and for entrées she ordered the large filet and I went with the cowboy ribeye. Every single dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. It was one of those meals where you genuinely don’t have a single complaint. We enjoyed it so much that I later brought my company team back and reserved the Taxin Room.
