Bombay at the Beach

Stopped by in Myrtle Beach for spring break. We are Indian so decided to give a local restaurant a try. We entered a practically empty dining room. Host was kind for the most part but was consistently sneezing and coughing which made us even more worried about the food quality. Apart from that, one of the cooks had headphones on and was dancing in the dining room, constantly peaking his head out and staring us down. From a FOOD PERSPECTIVE, it was very very poor. Everything lacked seasoning and even salt wasn’t enough to add flavor. We had Paneer Makhani as well as Dal Makhani both of which were watery and lacked basic spice. We also had a sizzler which was supposed to be tandoor but was barely marinated and vegetables weren’t cooked all the way through. Not to mention the food took 45 min

Delicious all around. Even my picky grandma enjoyed her food. I’ve been a customer here since 2017 and all I can say is every visit here has been satisfying. Highly recommend the onion pakora and the biryani and the everything else. I can tell the owner of this restaurant is very passionate about the business and that the cooks are committed. Bonus points for sensory friendly lighting!

Bekh was wonderful. He was warm and welcoming and helpful. The food was freshly made and delicious. We all enjoyed our dishes. They were generous portions as well. The menus states daily buffet but they only offer it on weekends. It’s an old home converted to a restaurant. It isn’t fancy but clean and homey. Water and plates/sikberware are self service. The food is 100% HALAL and one of the few in the city. Be sure to stop by. Full private lot near the beach.

We stopped here for a late lunch and got in just before closing at 2:30 (they reopen for dinner in the evening). The buffet was ready for us and we loaded up on all sorts of delicious food. They had all the traditional Indian dishes including samosas, naan, and chicken and vegetarian options. Even dessert (rice pudding). Easy to access location too. We’ll surely come back!

Wow!! We were introduced to this place by a dear friend/faithful customer for over a decade, and now we know why he keeps going back to Bombay at the Beach! Mr. Bekah welcomed us warmly and brought us some appetizers - warm crispy papadam with dips, delicious thick samosas and pakoras, a mixed grill (tandoori meats and seafood) with a side of mango lassi. Everything was just incredible!! We had skipped breakfast so we definitely still had room for entrées. We opted for butter chicken, lamb curry, and chicken saag with garlic herbed naan. Good luck picking a favorite with this explosion of flavors on your taste buds!! You won’t forget it! I always love me some Indian food and Bombay at the Beach sure knows how to deliver! We then had a delicious dessert with rice pudding and gulab jamun. M
