I went to Bobae Banjum twice during their soft opening — once for dinner and once for pocha — and really enjoyed both visits. The food was consistently good. The jjamppong had a deep, spicy broth with plenty of seafood, and the creamy jjamppong was rich but still well balanced and not too heavy. The fried shrimp was crispy with a great sweet-spicy sauce, and the jjajangmyeon was classic, savory, and comforting. We also tried the Szechuan crispy pork — it’s very spicy but oddly addictive, so definitely be careful with that one. It’s a great spot for pocha — dark, cozy vibes, and having soup with alcohol honestly helped avoid a hangover the next day. Severe food poisoning! ​Seven of us visited for lunch on February 19th for the first time, as we’d heard this is the new "go-to" spot for Korean-Chinese cuisine. While the food tasted great during the meal, the aftermath was a disaster. ​Starting that night, five out of the seven people in our party fell severely ill with multiple episodes of intense abdominal pain and diarrhea that lasted well into the next day. It was some of the worst physical pain I have ever experienced; I personally had approximately 10 episodes of diarrhea over a 36-hour period. Notably, one of the two people who did not get sick was a 1-year-old who did not eat any of the restaurant's food. ​We reached out to management to report the issue. This Korean-Chinese restaurant is a must visit! All the dishes we ordered were fantastic and service was top-notch. Highly recommend! [Food] - Jjajangmyeon / Jjambbong were delicious. The fried Tangsuyuk was soft and chewy which was perfect. Cream shrimp was the MVP dish for me. I am definitely coming back for cream jjambbong and other dishes I havent tried yet. [Service] - the place was packed when we went for dinner but all of our order came within 20min which surprised all of us! Waitress made sure we were well-taken care of. This place is truly a gem! Every dish was flavorful and comforting, just like authentic Korean-Chinese food you’d find in Korea. Even though the restaurant was packed, the service was incredibly kind and attentive. I’ll definitely be back. It’s the best Korean Chinese spot in the area!!!
