Black Dirt Coffee Shop & Café

Food was so good, we ate here twice during our brief stay in Columbia. The biscuits were the best, especially topped with bacon, egg, and cheese! The location can be difficult to find without using the exact address (don’t use business name alone), and outside signage isn’t the best. That said, once you’ve eaten here, you won’t have a problem finding it a second time!

This is a gem of a find. I travel across the south in search of the best biscuit and have reviewed many places, including some of the acclaimed best, this blows them out of the water. The biscuit is the right mix of butter and buttermilk, soft and fluffy yet a bit of buttery crisp on the outside. Perfect combination to make a top 5 biscuit in NC SC TN area!!! Coffee is delicious too, if you like drip coffee, you know a good cup when you have one!!! They offer breakfast and lunch in a spacious environment that if you don’t look hard enough you may miss. We stopped here on our way back from the Outer Banks and were blown away by the tasty breakfast biscuits, coffee, and hospitality. The ladies working were so lovely, and one even made me a special butterscotch cold foam for my iced latte! Try the blueberry biscuits, they are wonderful. P. S. They also stock Chapel Hill Toffee in their market if you’re looking for an extra sweet treat.

Im so glad this building has been put to such good use! Growing up in Columbia, it’s always exciting when gems like black dirt pop up. The space is beautiful, there’s free WiFi, and delicious cappuccinos. The staff is very kind, and the food items are incredible. We loved everything we tried (especially the sweet potato biscuits and banana bread). Can’t wait to come home for a visit and come back!

This is a lovely coffee shop. The food was good as well as the service. It has a beautiful deck next to the water. A bright spot in Columbia!
