Black Bear Cafe

We love the atmosphere at Black Bear. We eat there pretty often and have found the food to be consistently good and always fresh. It is made to order not precooked. I especially love their bbq and would recommend that to anyone who enjoys smoked bbq. Average prices and above average service and quality.

Ordered a burger with bacon and cheese, fries on the side and an order of mozzarella sticks and it was $20 dollars… for one person. Would be acceptable if everything was made fresh but this food is clearly frozen and thrown on a grill, the fries taste like they have freezer burn but the mozzarella sticks were good so that’s one plus.

Basic home style cooking. Nothing fancy, but quality. The service is first class, and friendly. The atmosphere is local hometown dinner.

On December 5th, at 4 pm, my husband and I had dinner at this nice little restaurant. I had BBQ, fried okra, hush puppies, pintos, and Cherry Yum Yum. My husband had the country fried steak & gravy, mash potatoes & gravy, pintos, fresh made roll, and peanut butter pie. The food is delicious with generous portions, I couldn't eat it all. We will definitely return.

I called and asked what kind of bread they served for the Patty Melts and the girl this morning told me rye well that was a lie. So I had my husband pick me 1 up and guess what it's on white bread which sucked and the bread was soggy and not grilled well enough. A Patty Melt is supposed to be on rye bread with Swiss cheese not American. And yourCaesar salad is supposed to be with romaine lettuce not iceberg lettuce which I got once and it sucked too. Your girls who answer the phone need to know your menu and how things are served. I will never eat from this restaurant again.
