Customer Reviews
Bittercreek Alehouse feels like the kind of place you accidentally discover once and then quietly start using as a personal landmark for your life. “That was the winter I ate elk chili at Bittercreek.” “That conversation should have happened over a Bittercreek burger.” It has that energy. I came in without expectations and left with the very specific satisfaction of having been exactly where I was supposed to be. The beer list alone deserves respect — not flashy, not overwhelming, just thoughtfully curated, like someone actually drinks this stuff and cares. The food matches that same philosophy. Honest, hearty, no gimmicks. My burger arrived looking confident, not dressed up for Instagram, just ready to do its job — and it absolutely did. The atmosphere is the real hook. Warm wood, low h
Such an amazing rustic great atmosphere spot right downtown! Perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a visit to their bar! The beef focaccia is to die for! The fries were delicious and perfectly crispy and soft. The Cesar salad with salmon was my favorite but it’s hard to decide when everything was so delicious! Great service even though it can get quite busy! Highly recommend if you are in the area, this was our 3rd time visiting!
Strolling along 8th street and found a nice place to eat dinner. We sat outside and was pleasant with the heaters going. We had the Poutine for a stater and then shared the Wild Coho Salmon with Caesar Salad. Food was great and Amaya was a great server.
Bittercreek Alehouse gets shocking stellar reviews. But it's just not a great restaurant. It's located in a popular tourist area and it's relatively easy to find a table. But the food is quite a letdown. The poutine features a very heavy gravy that is too overpowering, not to mention lacking the authenticity of a good Canadian poutine. The only redeeming quality were the cheese curds. The fries were tasteless and extremely disappointing for a region that prides themselves on potatoes. And while the burgers are incredibly creative, they lack quality.
Loved the food and service! The poutine is a must try! We came in and asked our waiter to pick us a good beer flight and OMG: all options were amazing! We ended up returning to this place for a second time in one evening!
