Bird On The Run

I was hungry last night. Hungry in that way that makes you a menace to everyone and everything around you. I needed something to eat fast and I didn’t wanna make it myself – thankfully for me Bird On The Run is a couple blocks away and available on DoorDash! I made my order and I think it was here in maybe 25 minutes? Usually that quickness comes with some kind of downside like undercooked, chicken or soggy fries. None of that to be found here. The sandwich was massive, one of those things that you pull out of the bag and your jaw drops at the spectacle of it. I wish that I could’ve taken a picture, but I was so hungry that I devoured it without a picture even crossing my mind. I want to stress how much food you get. Huge chicken sandwich and a really large container of very well-cooked,

A very small area but has some sitting area outside. The worker was nice in explaining the menu and what was possible. We ordered the chicken tenders and made it a combo and added a mean margarita. The worker explained the reason for the name was because it was stronger than a usual frozen margarita. The chicken was good, the bag was greasy but the tenders were not. A level 2, extra hot was not spicy at all. The margarita was strong and good.

Went on a Saturday evening for dinner, and it was practically empty. I guess this is more of a takeaway place than a dine in place. You place your order at the cash register, and then when your food is ready, they bring it out to your table in a paper bag. You can choose to take it away or eat there. I got the deluxe chicken sandwich, which is sort of a breakfast sandwich with bacon and egg, and then a nice fried chicken patty. I also got the coleslaw on the side. The chicken was extremely tender, and the overall was very flavourful. It’s a good chicken sandwich, but it did not blow me away. The coleslaw had a little bit more mayonnaise than I like. Overall, a decent meal.

What's makes this THE BEST chicken sandwich is that it is breaded more like a piece of fried chicken. Being able to determine your hotness level also makes it customizable and delicious. I did 3. I love hot. It made me sweat. Loved it.

Finally got a chance to stop here. Ordered nuggets, fish combo and a deluxe chicken sandwich to go. Got the level 1 oil and seasoning on the side. Turned the air fryer on when we got them home, mixed the seasoning and oil and added it to the sandwich, dropped both sandwiches in the air fryer for an extra crunch and the sandwiches were very, very good. Glad we had a chance to stop here to sample some items. No parking but found a spot around the corner on the street. Some seating available inside.
