Biorka B & B

We stayed at Biorka House for a few nights during our honeymoon. Very comfortable and clean - perfect for a couple. Close to downtown, grocery store, and hiking trails. Aurelia was a fantastic host and pointed us in the right direction - and as another reviewer said, not intrusive. Excellent way to be close to town and comfy without paying big hotel prices. Great coffee and lovely soap provided - and close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Cozy..awesome hosts..close walk to center of town

My husband and I just came back from Sitka and stayed three nights at the Biorka Guest House. The host is friendly and easy to communicate with. The space is beautiful - you can look out at the mountains in the distance. I love the art prints on the wall and the handmade ceramic mugs. It has everything - little fridge, microwave, even a collection of dvds and books. Excellent location -can walk to grocery store and downtown and the parks and historic sites. Very relaxing. We had kind of gray drizzly weather but it didn't matter because we came home after our hikes to a cozy nice place.

We had the pleasure of staying with Auriella for one week in July 2013. The room was charming with wonderful crafty touches everywhere. The only downside was no cooking facilities except microwave which I did know about but found inconvenient at times. Apart from this, Auriella was a wonderful host who couldn't do enough for us without being intrusive. The bed was very comfortable and both bedroom and bathroom spotlessly clean. Our own private entrance was very good and one very good thing was the local supermarket was right across the road. Access to what Sitka had to offer were extremely and there is no need for car hire in my opinion.

We have stayed in Sitka several times and the Biorka Guest House is the best for this type of accommodation. The fact that no breakfast is served was to our liking since we could prepare something on our own time schedule from the oatmeal, coffee, tea, etc. provided or, even better, walk a short ways to the Highliner Coffee shop for fantastic croissants and lattés. The other big advantage is the location. One can walk a half-block to a small grocery store for snack and sandwiches. And all the other interesting sites and stores are within walking distance, thus, no need for a car. The local bus is also nearby. The hosts can give information about hiking in the area.
