Big Island Hawaiian BBQ

This place is so freakin' good. We stop by every time we're in the area. The gang loves the chicken bbq+katsu combo and chicken stir fried noodles. Plus, the servings are big enough to split with another person, and prices are reasonable for everything you get. The staff is super kind here too. You can't go wrong with anything here!

Very awkward establishment! First question I get when I walk in as if I’m picking up an Uber order.. Is that because I’m brown? I did not like the experience whatsoever! Also, I paid for a drink. She neglected to tell me the ice machine wasn’t working, so I got warm soda and then threw it away outside her door. I’ll never come back here again. And I’ll make sure to sway my friends and family to an American Hawaiian establishment

Went for dinner and there was sort of a long wait for food but it was worth it! Excellent portions. Really good flavors. There were sauces on the side for you to add. Highly recommend the beef!!

My family and I were craving something different from our usual fast-food routine, so we decided to give Big Island Hawaiian BBQ a try — and I’m so glad we did. We’ve driven past it countless times, always curious, and now I wish we had stopped in sooner. Having tried most of the popular Hawaiian spots around town — Aloha Kitchen, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Moku’s, and Moki’s — I can confidently say Big Island Hawaiian BBQ has earned a spot in my top three. The customer service was fantastic, and despite a crowd of people waiting for their orders, the wait time was impressively short.

Big Island Hawaiian BBQ in Gilbert is absolutely fantastic! From the moment I walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcoming — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel at home right away. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and their kindness really stood out. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious — true comfort food with an island touch. You can tell they put real care into every dish, and it definitely shows in the taste and quality. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both amazing food and such warm service, but Big Island Hawaiian BBQ nails it. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great Hawaiian BBQ and a genuinely friendly atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🌺🍴
