Big Fatty's BBQ

This was a cool place, they offered plenty of seating both inside and out. They offered locally crafted beers from right next door which was cool. The staff were attentive and super friendly. The food was very good, the smoked meats were perfectly tender and juicy. I think they could have used a little more salt / seasoning but that’s just my opinion. I loved the burnt ends and brisket combo we had. As for the sides they were ok in comparison to the main dishes we ate. But wouldn’t stop me from revisiting by any means. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth the stop.

As we were walked into the place, we passed two outgoing to-go orders - a good sign. Next thing I spotted was rolls of paper towels at every table, another good sign in my book. The aromas in this place were amazing. Open seating, live music and a patient waitress who answered all of our questions. Our wait for our orders wasn’t long as we enjoyed the live music. Every serving was delicious! Savory, moist and not overly spiced. I’ve had BBQ where everything was slathered with a sauce where all you could taste was the sauce. Not here! Big Fatty’s pulled pork tasted first and foremost like a delicious pork roast. The burnt ends were sublime and fell apart with zero effort. Nice little local bbq spot. They had live music and a lot of customers so clearly it’s popular. I wasn’t a big fan of my food - the brisket was actually too fatty (like half the piece was just fat), the pork was cold, and I didn’t love any of the side dishes.

Who doesn't love Big Fatty's BBQ?! I’m trying to give it 4.5 stars but the app won’t let me. You can only eat like this - grand Texas BBQ style - in the Upper Valley in very few places. I know of 2 places - in total - but the other is only open 3 times per week. Big Fatty's is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open from 12-8 daily, otherwise. Our Fatty's Baked Beans were so good and even more delicious than I remembered them to be! These were more sweet and perhaps fancied-up for autumn because they had a lovely, surprising and delicious flavor of fall apples. If you took a vat of mulling spices and seasoned the mix of beans in this, and then boiled them in it, I’m guessing they might taste similar to these. Went for the first time on our motorcycles from Manchester NH. Got there as soon as it opened. We were kindly greeted and served right away. Food was awesome and some of the best prices I have seen in a long time for great BBQ. Place is awesome all around!
