We were curious to try this new-ish Indian restaurant and wow am I glad we did because the food was delicious. Also there were many dishes on the menu that I had not heard of or tried before, even though we are fans of Indian food and have eaten at many different restaurants. They had a great version of the "standard" Chicken 65 but also Chicken 555, which was new to me and delightful. I'm not a foodie and don't know how to accurately describe the dishes but what fun to find a restaurant that offers new-to-you versions of food you love. We did take-out; the restaurant itself is not large but is bright and clean, and we were immediately greeted and promptly served. I do think it would be helpful to add more description of the ingredients of dishes to the menu to make it easier for inexperi

The New Bharath Cafe is a great addition to Chapel Hill’s restaurant scene. My family and I had an amazing time trying their delicious dishes. The curry leaf baby corn was crispy and full of flavor, and the ABC paneer was definitely a highlight—it’s no wonder it’s called the chef’s special. The samosas, with their tasty potato filling, were cooked perfectly and paired really well with the mint chutney. For the main course, the goat curry was tender and flavorful, and the Karaikudi chicken curry had such authentic spices that it reminded me of being in India. The Vijayawada biryani was incredible—probably the best biryani I’ve had in town—and the ghee roast mutton biryani was equally fantastic. The butter chicken with chapathi was creamy and paired perfectly with the fresh chapathis. We e

Stopped by on a Saturday evening for dinner. Brought the whole family (wife and 2 small children) no issues with seating and staff was friendly with the kids. Ordered two appetizers and split the weekend special Fried Chicken Biryani. Food was made fast and fresh and staff made sure we were taken care of. Good portions so we had leftovers to take home. My wife liked the ABC Paneer so much we had to get another order to go. If you're in Chapel Hill and want Indian, this is a great place to try.

I must say, this new Indian restaurant is a fantastic addition to the area. My family and I went there recently, and we were thoroughly impressed with the food and service. Their biryanis are truly the highlight. We tried the Mutton Ghee Roast Biryani and the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, and both were absolutely amazing. The flavors were spot on, the meat was tender, and the rice had that perfect aroma and texture. The South Indian Spicy Chicken Biryani was another winner—just the right amount of spice to make it memorable. As a starter, the Chicken 65 was crispy, tasty, and full of flavor. For vegetarians, they have some really great options too. The ABC Chef’s Special Paneer was outstanding—the paneer was fresh, soft, and paired with a delicious, flavorful gravy. Very kind employee. But the food was terrible, chicken with lots of bones, no flavor, and my chicken had a hair, the garlic naan was chewy. I do not recommend, I have no idea how this place has good ratings in google.
