After trying many Chicago cake tastings, we felt like most bakeries missed the mark when it came to flavor. Bent Fork Bakery completely changed that for us. Our wedding cake was absolutely incredible, both stunning to look at and unbelievably delicious. Every bite was full of flavor and had our guests raving all night. We chose the almond cake with cream cheese frosting and another layer with strawberries as the filling, and honestly, it was the best cake I’ve ever had. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. I love Bent Fork Bakery. I order cakes and cupcakes from them anytime I have an occasion for it. And I love their baked goods you can get from their display. I had an unusual request due to poor planning. I asked them to take their rainbow cake, no decorations, make the frosting green and put the lettering at the edge of the cake because I was going to put a volcano on the top. Then as they asked the color for the lettering, I said orange for lava color and as I said it I thought ‘oh goodness, green cake with orange lettering?! That might look weird.’ I had no clue how it would turn out, even for a simple request. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for what I had planned. An Unforgettable Wedding Cake Experience We ordered our wedding cake from this bakery, and to this day, every single guest still talks about it ,not one person failed to say it was the most delicious cake they’ve ever had. We chose a chocolate cake with salted caramel filling and vanilla, and it was absolute perfection. The flavor balance, the texture, and the presentation were all flawless. It wasn’t just beautiful ,it was truly unforgettable. It became such a favorite that now, every year on our anniversary or birthdays, we make sure to have a cupcake in the same flavor to relive that moment. Long before I met my husband, I decided that my wedding cake would come from a boutique bakery in the city but after their $50 tasting box fell short, I was disappointed to have to add “find a bakery” back onto my already long list of wedding tasks. I did a few tastings with other bakeries and was honestly close to giving up on desserts altogether because I couldn’t find something that WOW’d me. Enter Bent Fork Bakery. I ordered a few tasters (two layer take home cupcakes in custom flavors) and upon diving in, I was blown away and once again excited about our wedding cake! I’ve loved so many treats over the years— blueberry lemon bread, chocolate hoho’s, fun flavored bars and cupcakes, key lime pie, mini pies and more! I recommend it all!! Support local and always shop at Bent Fork for your bakery wants and needs! There are always multiple employees offering to help or answer questions— but you can’t go wrong with anything you order!
