Little Silver’s own boulangerie. Such a fitting name for an amazing place to get freshly baked bread with basic simple ingredients. Yes, no sugar / high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, dough conditioners or oil added. Tucked away in the strip mall business district of Little Silver, this bakery which provides its creations to a great nearby Cajun seafood restaurant called Drew’s Bistro, a finalist for regional James Beard award, is definitely worth the trip when you want to up your cooking level in all things that involve bread. For use to make grilled cheese sandwiches, bruschetta, charcuterie board or stufffing, these freshly baked bread will not disappoint. I'm not a fan of sourdough bread. However, Benchmark Breads' sourdough is mild enough for me to tolerate it. The country loaf pairs well with sauce, strong cheeses and spreadable chocolate. If they ever made the same bread without the sourdough, they could rival all the supermarket chains and specialty stores that exist today.

Been buying breads and some goodies here for a year now and never disappoints. Its a bit far from us from the Toms River area so we have to coordinate or make special trips when we can. Ordered thanksgiving specials last year and this year and they are always a hit. A new one that is absolutely the best I ever had, is their sourdough cinnamon buns! The flavor in the dough is amazing and a nice crisp outside after a quick toast in the mini oven. Wish they had a store closer, because I would be there every week. Love it there and the people are always super friendly.

Most excellent selection of breads and treats! Olive and herb loaf is excellent alone and a perfect accompaniment to any pasta dish. The jalapeño cheddar loaf pairs with chili perfectly! Visit the shop and you won't regret it!

For those of you who follow me… you know I call them as I see them. There is not a better bread bakery for sourdough bread in the northern hemisphere!! This place is a must go! The sourdough bread they bake is hot, fresh, beautiful and the health benefit I got from their sourdough made a positive change to my stomach to boot! They had a turkey shaped sourdough bread for thanksgiving and a Pannatone loaf for Christmas! They carry various loaves of bread which they’ll gladly slice for you. Bagels, Babka ,cookies and much more.. all sourdough! Go early! They sell out by 11:30am or so from what I was told. This place is special, I call them as I see them!
