Bellos Lounge & Restaurant

Google led me to Bello’s Lounge & Restaurant for what I hoped would be a relaxing date night in actual lounge. Unfortunately the lounge area upstairs is designed for smokers. Street parking only, which meant hiking a block and a half uphill just to get to dinner. During the day, it’s scenic. After dark? Think ATVs, motorcycles doing wheelies, and a background cast of “on the point.” at night the area doesn’t feel particularly safe. We were seated immediately, which was appreciated. However, the booth seating is poorly constructed—thin cushions over wooden boxes that sink in as soon as you sit down, creating an unstable and uncomfortable experience. Bellos was recommended to me by a friend. I decided to host my Birthday there on September 21, 2025. I contacted them ahead of time about our theme (Moo Moos & Mimosas/Sweats & Shots) and that I anticipated about 20 attendees! They honored it and were ready (with placards on the tables with my name) when we arrived! The service, food, drinks, music, and atmosphere were TOP TIER!!! When I say A TIME WAS HAD, I AIN'T LYIN!!!

Bellos As a profound critc and philanthropist, I would love to give this establishment a 10/ 10. Throughout the time I ordered my appetizer to the drinks! The food did not disappoint and the service was very welcoming. I had a good time with the quality of food and the drinks made! My party tasted the Suya, which was delicious. We also tried the cocktail drinks in which Ms. Neicy perfected it in a way that took me to the Islands! This is a goldmine in Richmond and I do not want the city to wear them out; come with respect and show them exceptional appreciation as I felt the love from their craft.

Bellos was such an absolute treat! My girl was celebrating her birthday and this visit was not planned. The spot itself was nice on the inside and had an upstairs hookah area. The food was delicious a flavorful and every bit of a chic African experience. The staff was exceptional and you could tell they enjoy their jobs!

From the moment we walked in, the staff at Bello made us feel welcomed. Donna, the owner of the restaurant, came over and introduced herself- it was a kind and thoughtful touch. Our waitress Nescey provided excellent customer service, and the DJ Tee was on point providing R&B soul music- not too loud creating a great ambience. Now, let’s talk about the food! We had crispy and flavorful pineapple wings, which paired excellent with the fried rice. My Husband ordered the oyster Rockefeller, and he loved it!!! We also enjoyed oxtails (MY FAVORITE ITEM ON THE MENU), coconut shrimp with fresh coconut, and you can tell it wasn’t from a frozen bag. Everything was cooked to perfection and amazing flavor. Plus, the carry out bags were specially designed themselves- which was a nice touch.
