Base Camp Pizza Co.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Base Camp Pizza Co.! It’s the perfect après-ski spot for any hungry family visiting Lake Tahoe. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and ideal for families. The pizza tastes authentic and homemade, made with high-quality ingredients that you can truly taste in every bite. Our pizzas were cooked to perfection — crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings. The service was attentive and fast, even though the restaurant was busy. Yes, the wait time can sometimes be a challenge, especially during peak ski season, but the food is absolutely worth it. This is an excellent family-friendly spot, and we will definitely be back the next time we’re in Tahoe! Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious, authentic pizza in a fun and lively sett

The food was great, would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in town. My three friends and I ordered two apps (spinach & artichoke dip and buffalo wings) and two pizzas, one medium and one personal (shown below) and it was just the right amount of food for us. The drinks were really good as well. We were seated right next to the band so it was a bit loud and there was a mix up with our seating but our server was really funny and helpful.

We decided to give Base Camp Pizza a try since it’s rated so highly and often recommended in the area. The location is convenient, right in the center of Heavenly Village, but keep in mind that parking requires a fee, which is a bit of a downside. We came on a Monday evening around dinner time and had about a 15 minute wait, which wasn’t too bad. The staff were very friendly and efficient — service was definitely one of the highlights. We ordered the Caesar Salad and the Base Camp Pizza. Both dishes were good but not quite as amazing as we expected based on the reviews. The pizza had a thin crust and reminded us of Blaze Pizza in both texture and flavor, tasty, but nothing particularly unique. The salad, we ordered large, was fresh and nicely dressed, though a bit small for the price.

Honestly speaking, not overrated. The pizza was a 9 1/2 out of 10. Super delicious. The crust had so much flavor with four cheese that is stringy and a very fresh. Red sauce was also sweet and a highlight. We got half base camp and I would highly suggest you try it too. Ethan the bartender helped us and was one of the coolest server we had. Very easy to get along with and had a good attitude.

Staff? AMAZING Atmosphere? AMAZING Food? AMAZING Everything was amazing from start to finish. The staff was so welcoming to my family and to my blue nose pit, Oso 🐾! The whole place felt like a Christmas Hallmark movie, especially with the live music playing in the background. We came prepared with our order list, and our waitress was incredible—she had our appetizers and drinks out within 10 minutes. All of our pizzas arrived right as we finished the appetizers, perfectly timed. I highly recommend the Margherita pizza; it’s my absolute favorite. Something about the dough here is just next-level delicious. Definitely recommend this spot.
