Customer Reviews
This is an exceptionally well staffed and equipped public library that suffers from its funding model. I had the pleasure of visiting Baldwin while in Michigan for a week and enjoyed the use of its public spaces while being left a little disappointed that I could not apply for a library card. The staff found me a nice space to work, but it is a shame to close off many of the library's best resources to cardholders. None of my following complaint is directed at BPL's exceptional staff, who seemed largely in agreement that they operate under a selective-user model of public service. The funding model for BPL is inherently localist and organized to limit non-residents from getting a card. I offered to pay for a card, at twice that taxpayers rate or for $100 for the week, whichever was greate
Freshly renovated. WiFi a little slow. Interior feel like a old world library - tall, thick wooden bookcases, antique reading lamps, formal/colorful chairs and thick carpet. Comfortable reading areas. Have 3D printing and large creative children's areas.
The Baldwin Public Library is the best place ever! I love going there to check out books and DVDs. It has perfect activities for people of all ages. I love the summer reading and all of the events. It has loads of fun things. The BPL library also has a super cool idea lab and seed library. This is the place to go!
Leaving a review specifically for the Idea Lab. What an amazing space! There is so much to do and learn and it’s amazing what they make available to the public. The staff is also top-notch; Sarah especially was a fantastic resource and representative for the lab. She was so knowledgeable, helpful, and welcoming. Great space to visit!
My children and I really enjoy the library. Selection of books, things to do and cute fishtanks. They often have events for children. It is well organized and clean. Conveniently located across the street from the park
