Customer Reviews
A lovely home out in the country near Wellsboro, PA, surrounded by sheep and fields. The four guest rooms are in a separate wing--they're clean and simply but beautifully furnished. Keith and Hilma are wonderful hosts--their dinner recommendation in downtown Wellsboro was terrific. I took a walk around their property in the AM before breakfast, and sat on a bench and read a novel, enjoying quiet of the fields and small pond. Breakfast was beautifully served; conversation was friendly and informative. I also bought two lovely skeins of lambs wool for my daughter's knitting.
I booked our overnight here based on reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. We were two couples on our way to Niagara Falls and needed an halfway point. As everyone else has said, the rooms are exceptionally clean; the view is charmingly bucolic. Keith and Hilma are friendly, helpful and informative. Our breakfast was a scrumptious Swedish Omelet with homemade Blueberry coffee cake. Coffee was just the way we like it! Should anyone ask, this is the place in the Wellsboro area that we will recommend.
I booked a room at Arvgarden for just one night, but I wish it could have been longer. My best friend and I stayed at this lovely B&B right outside of the town of Wellsboro. We were in the area for the Laurel Festival and some hiking at the PA Grand Canyon (Leonard Harrison State Park). The home itself is lovely, and our room was comfortable and very clean, with a nice view of the property. We enjoyed walking around the fields and visiting the sheep. If you're in search of some peace and quiet, this is your place! Breakfast the next morning was wonderful too: lemon pancakes, sausage, fruit salad and orange-glazed muffins. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
My husband and I and our friends stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been more pleased. Keith and Hilma were so friendly and gracious and shared their love of Sweden and Swedish foods. Breakfasts were outstanding. Omelets, blueberry muffins, juice, fruit, coffee and Swedish pancakes and sausage and fruit and juice and coffee and a fantastic cardamom coffee cake. They gave us good advice about what to do and where to eat. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this charming farm to anyone.
We stayed 3 nights at this lovely BB. Extremely clean, decorated in sparse Swedish fashion, comfortable beds, charming sitting area. The breakfast was a definite highlight- healthy and with herbs/vegetables/and fruits from their own garden. Hilma is a great cook and prepared dishes for several challenging dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy and meat free), yet the food was so good you would never guess. Only 5 minutes to town, and lovely to be out in the country, walk the paths mowed into the fields. Yes, there is little soundproofing between the walls, but during our stay everyone was respectful at night and this was not an issue. We would most definitely stay there again if visiting the area.
