Applebee's Grill + Bar

It all started with the hosts as my 13 yr old son and I arrived at Applebee's, we were excited to enjoy the Olympics together, ideally seated at a high top by the bar where we could get a good view of every event of the Olympics. Unfortunately, our plans took a disappointing turn when we were told that those seats were reserved for a large party, despite the presence of other guests at nearby high tops with just two people. It felt unjust to be denied a choice that was clearly available to others. Instead, we were ushered to a booth directly in front of a glaring light that obscured our view of the TV. We actually ordered delivery last minute, and we were surprised by the level of care that went into the food. I’ve been casually grabbing food to go from Applebees for a long time (esp in my 20s) and this was by far the best tasting meal I’ve ever had from Applebees. You can tell the kitchen is putting effort into presentation and prep - the food was done perfectly, and all the sides and utensils etc. were in the bag. Really nice to see that extra customer care.

I ordered a to go meal. When I got home I was disappointed because my order was incorrect. I called to let the restaurant know my frustration. One of the managers - Tony made it difficult for me to stay frustrated. He was so kind. He listened intently to my frustration and came up with a resolve quickly. I am so appreciative of his customer service that despite the mix up I have to give them 5 stars for service.

Had dinner with my grand daughter and daughter. Our waiter was Vincent. I totally didn’t like the service nor the food. I’m not the type to ask for a discount or take the food off the bill, I just eat my food and then either decide if I will go back or not. First off Vincent was nice, however seemed like he had other tables that were more important or spent his time in the kitchen. He would stop past the table drop whatever off and speed away. My food was dry which wasn’t the biggest deal. The problem was not feeling like we were valued. Long story short the bill was $71 and some change. I paid cash I gave him $82 (50, 20, 10, 2-1’s) he came back by the table gave me 50 cent said thank you faster than buster rhymes rapping on “look at me now” and speed away. Applebees in Middletown, De has excellent customer service. Our server Kaylin (excuse the incorrect spelling of server name, if it's misspelled). The atmosphere was friendly and it felt like home. My party of four had a nice time. We will be visiting Applebee's in Middletown, De. Again. My party of four stated the food was on point and delicious. I will recommend this restaurant to my friends, family, and colleagues.
