My girlfriend and I spend the weekend at the Antietam Guest House. The house is comfortable, however due to the age it is setup differently than most modern houses. The beds are small, for 2 adults to share a full size bed can be at times uncomfortable, however... it's still nice to be snugged up. There is no central AC, but there are very powerful room air conditioners in the main rooms: basement, bedroom and basement. I kept the bedroom an "arctic tundra" (59°). Beings that it is an old house, some friends from the other side still could visit. Saturday night, the basement in which we never were in had a light on that we never turned on and was off the next morning. Fluke? More? The price is super reasonable, we will be back.

Nice place. The Hosts have ," thought of everything" and stocked with all the kitchen, household, etc comforts so that you can cook, relax, enjoy. I do not know how it could accommodate more than 2 upstairs in the same bed and 3 in the most basement?

Tim and Vernell have a lovely home, close to Antietam and the C&O Canal towpath. We were lucky enough to meet them when we arrived early, and they were so nice and so kind to us, with great recommendations and friendly conversation. I hope we were as gentle with their home as they have obviously been, and that we were as guests as wonderful as they were hosts.

A piece of history. The wittle and daub construction of this 166 year old home is on display on the first level of this home built by a Captain of a Chesapeake and Ohio Canal boat. Found in historic Sharpsburg. It is available through VRBO
