Angry German

Parking lot can fill up fast, but there is free on street parking. This is an open family style restaurant, where the servers inviting and gracious. There is a video showing all of the cakes that are available every day. We ordered a Bavarian Pretzel with cheddar beer dip and mustard. I ordered Poutine. While we waited for our food to come out, we saw lots of platers full of amazing dishes! The food came out so hot that we had to wait to eat it. As a poutine lover, I feel like they really upped their game by putting fried cheese curds in the dish. Large Bourbon selection. Bathrooms are clean.

This was our first time to a German restaurant. Staff greeted us as we entered the restaurant and seated us right away. It was a pleasant experience and we will definitely return to this establishment. I wanted to order the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and mustard but they had run out of beer cheese. I'm not the one to pass up on cheese so I declined the order to go. We shall see if I return to order the pretzel to go on a different day while I'm visiting. I will update this post with the picture if I do. We didn't order any dessert because we were too full to order. Maybe another time. Happy eating 😋

I'd learned about the Angry German's Bavarian Pretzel with beer cheese via Google maps and knew I had to stop by and have one while in town. I ordered one and asked for a good lager to go with it and was given an Angry Lager. Both the ginormous warm, chewy pretzel and the delicious beer were amazing!! For me, they paired beautifully. I had a second lager (I was lodging next door) and extra cheese. I will do the 1.5 hr drive from Tucson again solely for this pretzel and lager. I NEED this in my life!

Update - still a favorite restaurant. I had the special - garlic and rosemary Rahm Schnitzel with Spatzle, Red Cabbage with cucumbers. They also have a great selection of German beers and the best old fashioneds in town.

I had the Jagerschnitzel with double spaetzle. It was fresh, hot and delicious. Clean restaurant with a friendly, attentive staff. I will be stopping here anytime I’m in the area.
