((4.5 stars)) Andrea's Pizza is another bright spot on the pizza map of NYC as the collective quality of pizza in Manhattan has been on the upswing for the past 10 years 1) bc people are more picky about their discretionary eating 2) bc fierce competition has bred pizza shops serving ever-improving quality pied and slices. accordingly, better pizzerias are dotting neighborhoods throughout boroughs. Andrea's Pizza is very much a modern neighborhood pizzeria with nods to the past. the clean, neat interior is straightforward: a couple of tables and the bench-style booths, a flatscreen playing music, Tiffany-esque hanging lamps, and a simple unpretentious ambiance. the focus is the pizza counter and kitchen and most importantly, the pizza. been here several times. i believe this place is ow
NYC is definitely in a pizza golden age. So many new-school spots with long ferment high-hydration dough that doesn't sacrifice crispness, and non-commodity ingredients. Andrea's is one of these. The dough here is fluffier than most in this category. They also do an excellent pan pizza.
I personally LOVE the vodka pesto pizza as well as the garlic knots, but I have tried a bunch of other slices and everything is delicious and fresh. Love this place
Excellent, excellent slice. Crust and crisp are just right, sauce and cheese are tasty and in good proportion. Best NY-style pizza in this part of East Village, for sure, and just as good as the best slices elsewhere in LES. <3 Nice place to sit too -- a couple tables streetside, and some classic pizzeria booths inside.
Great slice! The dough was really well developed. Had great chew. I personally wish it had sliiiighly less cheese (which I know isn’t an issue for some people!) otherwise this was top level. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was great. Shop was clean.
