Anchor Seafood

Happened to be in Montvale, NJ yesterday when I stopped into Anchor Seafood for the first time, and I am glad I did. Most noteworthy, the seafood display case has all fresh, not previously frozen seafood. As noted on their business card, the seafood is “hand-picked from N.Y.’s famous Fulton Fish Market”. Aside from it being fresh, the selection and quality is visually evident. It’s hard to find a good seafood market, and this is a rare good one. I will be returning, even though I live in NY (state). I would also point out that the wait staff is excellent—professional, prompt and courteous. If there is a negative, it is parking—only three spaces behind the store, but there is ample parking across the street in a strip mall.

I was really pleased with the fish selection and the preparation of the fish. Staff were friendly. I was a bit disappointed when I discovered that I was charged a 3% fee on top of what I was quoted for at the store. I was not told that my card would be charged on the 3% and I bought a hefty amount of fish. So the surcharge on top of that was a bit higher. I called the store expressed my concern and they were respectable, but I do believe in full transparency for clientele. This is illegal. I used my debit and he didn’t offer me the option to debit my card. He chose credit for me. This is not appreciated and I will report this. This is why sometimes customers don’t return.

My first time there, friendly service, beautiful selection of super fresh fish . I will definitely come back for their pre packaged home make sauce !

Staff very helpful and friendly. Most importantly, the fish is fresh! Best swordfish I've had in a long time. Tender, moist, delicious!

They have the best crab legs, snow and king crab at reasonable prices. Don't expect it to be cheap and good. Love this place
